What's it all about?

We are a community group who support and initiate projects relocalising food, entertainment, transport, jobs.... We do parties rather than protests.
We've been around since 2010. In 2012 some of our achievements -
Monthly fruit and vegie swaps - Newport and Altona
Fermenting Fridays - Kombucha (fermented tea), kefir (like yoghurt), kimchi (Korean spiced vegies), sourdough bread and dosas (Indian pan fried bread made of fermenting lentils and rice).
Preserving (bottling) workshop and fruit tree pruning workshop
Shared meals, including for the Autumn equinox and the winter solstice
'Talkin' Tech on Tuesday' about energy in the home, held at the pub
A presence at the Newport Fiddle & Folk Club's annual bush dance, providing free herbal teas
Men's Shed tour
A presence at the Williamstown Festival showing 'An Urban Orchard'
'Viva La Ferment Fever' - workshop celebrating culture and community in the kitchen
Responding to Council's draft Waste and Litter Management Plan
